1930’s Comedy Shorts

As a kid, I grew watching The Little Rascals, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, etc. on WNEW channel 5 and WPIX channel 11, and maybe sometimes on WOR channel 9 in Metro New York. This was back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. Still to this day I love these old short comedies and decided to explore all of them. Hal Roach’s comedies are by far the best in my opinion, but I love watching the others as well. I decided, with Copilot’s assistance, to try to compile a listing of as many shorts as I could find. I only want to list the ones that are currently available to view online, and I am providing the links to the videos, most being on Youtube or the Internet Archive. I will start off with Hal Roach. I used the web site “Another Nice Mess” as a master index to these works. I plan to also go on to list the 1930’s comedy shorts that were outside of the Hal Roach domain. I decided to limit these shorts to the 1930’s, although there are also some from 1929 (because that is when the “talkies” began. I know that there are many in the 1940’s as well, but that may be for another project. This is work in progress so please be patient as it will take me a while to get all of this material on my website.
